Work and Travel in New Zealand

When you arrive in new Zealand, you can stop off to rest at the hostel that we have booked for you in advance. Our partner office is very nearby. In an extensive orientation seminar you will receive help on how to apply for a tax number and open a bank account, as well as general information, how and where you can best find a job and many more insider tips. After that you can search for a job you might like in our extensive online job portal.

All of this information will help you to get orientated quickly. In that way you can get started straight away and you always have a contact (24 hour emergency helpline included). You may use the services of the PractiGo partner office during your entire stay. This also includes the monthly newsletter with available jobs in new Zealand.

Conditions

What it’s about: Working and travelling for up to twelve months in New Zealand, financed by doing different jobs during your stay.

Start date: Any time.

Language skills: You should have a good grasp of written and spoken English. You can learn the language or refresh your knowledge with a preparatory course.

Closing date for applications: Approx. two or three months before leaving.

Insurances: Before starting your program we need proof of your health insurance, personal/public liability insurance and your accident insurance.

Nationality: Please consult us as a working holiday visa is required. New Zealand there is the popular “Work and Holiday” visa for some European citizens. With this visa you can travel round New Zealand for a year and take on any job you like. In this way you can finance your stay in New Zealand. The conditions for this visa are:

    - You must be 18-30 years old when you apply.

    - EU citizens (depending on visa agreements).

    - No children in your care.

    - Proof of approx. €3000 upon entry.

    - Maximum twelve months stay.

    - Visa costs (approx. €100).

    - This visa may be granted once in a lifetime.

The English course consists of 25 lessions per week and is foccussed on speaking, reading, grammar, writing and listening. The afternoon classes have even more speaking and listening
