Volunteer in China

Although China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, unfortunately, some areas are still at the level of a developing country. Especially the social structure has not grown the way it is needed. Therefore many gaps arise that local and international organizations are trying to fill. They are particularly helping in the fields of education, environment and medical care in Beijing.

Before the actual work starts, you will attend an orientation seminar to prepare you for your tasks.

You can choose from different projects, for example a bakery, which is run mainly by disabled people. Western bakery goods are manufactured and sold there, so the salary of the employees can be paid. Another project is a school for children of migrant workers. These are excluded by law from public schools and healthcare making the parents unable to afford a decent education for their children. To break this vicious cycle, organizations support these schools with teachers. There are other projects that are suitable especially for psychology and law students.
